Alternate Story Form- WAkelet
This is a collection of different types of media including tweets, articles, youtube videos, images, instagram posts, and PDFs. This Wakelet features many murals in downtown Phoenix. It also features a story on how murals may be dividing Phoenix. One of the PDFs explains how to create a mural such as who to contact, where to locate it, and much more. A collection of tweets showcase the many different murals that are popular. Through this Wakelet, I hope to show my audience through different platforms how beautiful the murals in downtown Phoenix are and how they create the city perfectly.
Feature story
Taylor Place is a dorm in Downtown Phoenix offered to students who attend Arizona State University. Many students feel as if they are not included considering it is not the main campus for Arizona State University. Rachel Levy shares that her favorite experience about living downtown is how close everything is such as the journalism school, Walter Cronkite School of Journalism and Mass Communication. Rachel also shares that advice for future residents living downtown is to put yourself out there and be social. Music is from Bensound.com and is titled Little Idea by Benjamin Tissot. All videos and editing shot by Pascale Bushaw.
Explainer Video
This is a perfect look for festivals or everyday wear if you have a passion for glitter. Glitter seems to be one of the top trends going on for a while now. For this look, all you need is glitter, a q-tip, glitter glue, and whatever else you need to complete your eye makeup look. The glitter and glue costs about $6 each and you can find it pretty much anywhere online. You can complete this look with or with out the wing depending on your preferences. Overall, this process takes about 3 minutes or less so it is great if you are in a rush. Music in this video is Dreams from Bensound.com. All videos and editing shot by Pascale Bushaw.
Live tweeting/mobile reporting
I received passes to attend the 2019 Waste Management Phoenix Open and live tweeted my day. I went Friday and Saturday for the tournament and had a blast. I wasn't fortunate enough to meet any of the golfers but I followed them as they played the course. This is known as one of the rowdiest gold tournaments in history and let me tell you, it definitely was rowdy. From the fans, to the environment, to the excitement of golfers after they shot, the event was amazing. I would definitely recommend this golf tournament to any golfers and/or fans because it is one to remember.
602Pophx show opener
This is a show opener for a course called JMC 305. For our final project, my group and I came up with the idea to showcase local artists and designers in Downtown Phoenix. We called ourselves 602POPhx. Overall, this project has been a success. The logo was made by our Media Director that was used in the end of the video. The music is from Bensound.com and gives a fun vibe to the video, just as we portray in our project. If you would like to learn more about the 602POPhx project, there is a tab under "Content" where you can visit the website.
JMC 305 Adobe after effects
This is a show opener that I made for a course called JMC 305. It was made in adobe after effects and it was one of our first times working with the program itself. We focused on the class just as an example in order to prepare ourselves for when we made our final project. When learning how to make different transitions in the video, it was hard at first but once I got the hang of it, I was hooked on what I could do next. The application itself is difficult but it is very fun once you learn how to program everything in the right direction.
Podcast
This is a podcast that focuses on the positives and negatives of greek life here at Arizona State University. I had the opportunity to interview Kyle Sisco, a fraternity member, and he told me what it is like being involved in greek life. One specific thing that we discussed was why he joined a fraternity and how it affected his academic success. I created this podcast in order to show people who are interested in joining greek life what it is all about. Check out the Soundcloud link where I will be posting more podcasts discussing a variety of topics.
This podcast focuses on a wife of a passed Vietnam war veteran. In the podcast, Gloria Namie discusses how the war had an affect on not only her husband's life but as well as hers. Throughout this podcast, I had to conduct research on a topic about war and find a person fit enough to interview. While talking to Gloria, I found out that the war not only had impacted her life during the war but also the years to follow after dealing with her husbands PTSD. If personal stories is up your ally, give it a listen. All editing is by Pascale Bushaw.
